Trudeau’s widow, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, has spoken out about the Prime Minister’s passing in the wake of the tragedy.
“I wanted to be with him, I wanted to see him more,” she said in an interview with the Toronto Star.
The Prime Minister was shot dead while sitting in a car in front of his wife’s house in Vancouver on Sunday. “
We were together, but I felt like the two of us were a little bit alone.”

Trudeau was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound, but died later at home.
Trudeau’s mother, Julie Trudeau, told the Star that the news had hit her hardest.
“The way he talked, the way he was, he was very honest,” she told the newspaper.
“He had a good sense of humour.
He was so much fun to be around.”
Trudeau was a self-described “hippie” who enjoyed camping, hunting and cycling, according to his son, and was “very into photography,” according to a biography on the Canadian Museum of History website.
Trudeau, who was born in Edmonton in 1952, was married to Sophie Trudeau in 1982.
Trudeau has three children with wife Julie.
The couple have a three-year-old son and a three‑year-olds daughter.
A funeral service for Trudeau is scheduled for Monday at 9 a.m. in the Parliament Hill Cemetery.
Trudeau is survived by his parents, his sister, his brothers-in-law, brothers-amid-sisters and two sisters.
He also has a sister, Sophie, and two brothers-and-sister-in‑law, and a brother, John.
